Part of SES, the Special Projects team is at the forefront of specialised shaft work solutions. That made SES' Shaft Work team the obvious choice when Laing O'Rourke needed a first-rate partner, capable of meeting the demanding requirements of none other than the DSO: the UK's Defence & Security Organisation, part of the Ministry of Defence.

The DSO sought to redevelop its 90 acre Corsham site, near Bath: but to do that, it needed to cover six demolition shafts of up to 30 metres depth, and over six metres diameter. SES designed, supplied, fabricated and installed custom shaft demolition covers. Our Shaft Work team handled the limited-access site with aplomb - and delivered the contract on-time, to-budget, and without a hitch.
